Trip to Glacier National Park.

Glacier National Park - July 31 to August 10.
We arrived in Glacier on July 31st and will be spending the next nine days touring Glacier National Park before heading to the West Coast.  It's our first time here and we're having a wonderful time kayaking, hiking, and just seeing the beautiful country. We're staying at La Salle RV Park in Columbia Falls.  It's a small RV park, but very friendly.  Our first kayak trip was on Lake McDonald. The water was clear and as smooth as glass and the mountain's reflection off the water was magnificent. We took a moderate 4-mile hike to Stanton Lake and the trail was beautiful.  We had our bear spray and air horn with us and our fearless dog, Trent, kept us safe.  We also drove the "Going to the Sun Road" through Glacier National Park which turned out to be a thrilling ride.  The road is very narrow with rock cliffs on one side and sheer drop offs on the other.   You just prayed the vehicles coming at you stayed on their side of the road.  We still have lots to do and see before heading west.
Roberta testing the waters on Lake McDonald.
Selfie with my sweetie.
Beautiful day on the water.
The water couldn't have been smoother.  Beautiful day.
Cooling off after kayaking around the lake.
Roberta taking a dip in the very cool waters of Lake McDonald.
Great scenery.
Driving "Going to the Sun Road" from West Glacier to East Glacier.
A real nail biter at times.
Praying that the guy coming at you in the other lane stays in his lane.
We are having fun.
You can see the road in the distance as it crosses the mountain.
Don't look down.  It's a long way down.
One of the many little water falls coming from snow melt.
Good place for a selfie.
Another beautiful lake along the way.
Trail to Stanton Lake.
Our dog Trent sure enjoyed the hike.
Not too many trails that allow dogs.

Hey Bear, Hey Bear.
Pretty vegetation along the way.
Giant tree uprooted.
Our new cat Pilot and Trent are finally getting along.
We're not sure where this was taken.
Just another beautiful lake.

Hiking up McDonald Creek Trail.
Such a pretty hike along McDonald creek
Great hike.
Great hiking partner.
Beauty as far as you can see.
Beautiful waterfall in the background.  Love it when the hike
ends up at a waterfall.
The waterfall queen.
This water hole was carved out by small rock swirling around in a bowl.
This was a deep hole that would make a great cooling off tub.
Another perfectly round bowl still contains the rocks that formed it.
Took 100s of years to form the 24' bowl.
A lone mushroom on this log.  The only mushroom anywhere in this area.
Another kayaking trip on the northern end of Lake McDonald.
The lake was nicer than the first time we kayaked the lake.
We got a life jacket for Trent and now he can go with us kayaking.
He wined like a little baby.
Trent wishing he was on shore.
My favorite picture of Roberta on Lake McDonald early evening.
Hiking up Avalanche Lake Trail in Glacier and came upon this waterfall.
The weather was perfect for this 7 mile hike.
Roberta soaking her feet in the cool water.
Love the reflections off the water.  Breathtaking view.
Someone looking for a free handout.
Had to take a picture of this naughty cedar tree.
I mean knotty.
