Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Alabama

We've been in Foley, AL. (Gulf Shores & Orange Beach) the entire month of February and will be leaving for Eglin AFB in Destin, Florida tomorrow.  The weather in Gulf Shores has been great and the beaches are fantastic.  We've made many new friends, enjoyed kayaking with dolphin, biking around beautiful Gulf State Park, walked many miles on Orange Beach, dug up 4-5 gallons of sea shells, watched 3 different Mardi Gras parades, and enjoyed lots of great food.  This area is so beautiful and we will be coming back.  Our plan is to spend several nights in Destin, FL. before heading over to Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL.  We understand the beaches there are even nicer than here.  Hard to believe.  We will spend the entire month of March in these two areas.  Looking forward to going somewhere we have never been.  Enjoy pictures from Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Alabama.

Arrived at Eglin AFB RV Park this afternoon.  Nice little park.

We have to stop at the welcome centers within the first couple days
to get the lowdown on the area.
Beautiful Bella Terra RV Resort.  Home is where the coach takes us.
One of the few times you'll see Roberta just sitting around.
She's always got to be on the move.  But this isn't bad either.
A beautiful sunset from our front porch.  Not a bad view.
Roberta and many others digging on Orange Beach for sea shells.
It's almost like finding gold.
You can make a lot of friends digging for sea shells.
Some of the many sea shells Roberta dug up.
Came away with close to 5 gallons of sea shells.
Sunset on Orange Beach.  It was awesome.
Roberta on one of several kayaking trips.  No gators spotted today.
Interesting sign.  Didn't see any crawfish this day.
Maybe they took a detour.
A nice little summer cottage on the bayou.
Kayaking with good friends from St. Louis, MO.  Dave and Georgia Greene.
Roberta and Georgia enjoying their day on the bayou.
This rescue boat was tied up along one of the docks.
Kind of out of place for this bad boy.
Selfie take from dock in Gulf State Park.  We took a 14 mile bike ride
through the park.  New hip did great.  It was my butt that took punishment.
Waiting for the start of the Mardi Gras parade.
This was more fun than we thought it would be.
Roberta reaching out for a string of beads.
One of the Mardi Gras floats.
Roberta waiting for the parade to reach us.
"Beads, Beads, Mud Pie, Mud Pie, please.
I got me some beads.  This is so much fun.
Our take from a few Mardi Gras parades.  Not too bad.
Can't tell if Bruce is sleeping or reading his book.
Waiting for the parade to start.
A real Red Neck float.
Enjoying the parades.
Now there's a real boat.  Three 350 hp Yamaha engines.
It doesn't even touch the water when it's going.
Mardi Gras entrants.  Really cute little ponies.
Taking a selfie while in Kayaks can be a little challenging.
Bruce on the Bon Secour River in Alabama.
Us on the Bon Secour River in Alabama.
Roberta trying to hide under this big tree.  The trees throughout the
bayou are spectacular.
Here comes a dolphin on his back right at Bruce.
Dolphin flips right in front of Bruce.
Dolphin making a splash in front of Bruce.
I think he's just playing with him.
Catch of the day.  Ya hooo.
